The strategy details an approach to strengthening Scotland&#8217;s equality evidence base. It also lists equality evidence gaps raised during the Scottish Government\u2019s discussions with partner organisations and academic colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Since the publication of the strategy, the Scottish Government has worked to begin filling these equality evidence gaps, alongside partner organisations in the public sector, academic institutions and the third sector. Progress in filling these evidence gaps is summarised in the Equality Evidence Strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.scot\/Resource\/0054\/00548877.pdf\">Interim Progress Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The availability of equality evidence has been strengthened through: &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A modernised <a href=\"http:\/\/www.equalityevidence.scot\/\">Equality Evidence Finder<\/a> website summarising Scotland&#8217;s equality research and statistics.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scotland.shinyapps.io\/sg-equality-evidence-finder\/#equality-npf-top\">National Performance Indicator<\/a> performance breakdowns for equality groups.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0New data collections supporting the development of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.scot\/Topics\/People\/Equality\/Equalities\/GenderIndex\">Gender Equality Index<\/a> to be published in 2020.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/onescotland.org\/equality-themes\/advisory-council-women-girls\/\">Advisory Council on Women and Girls<\/a> &#8220;spotlight&#8221; evidence summaries.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Publishing an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/equality-fairer-scotland-budget-statement-scottish-budget-2019-20\/\">Equality Budget Statement<\/a> alongside the Scottish Budget.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New equality evidence includes: &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Longitudinal Educational Outcomes (LEO) analysing the employment and earnings outcomes for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/longitudinal-educational-outcomes-leo-univerisities-2016-17-scotland\/\">higher education graduates<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/longitudinal-education-outcomes-leo-colleges-hnc-hnd-employment-2016-17-scotland\">college completers<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/longitudinal-educational-outcomes-leo-modern-apprenticeships\">modern apprentices<\/a>. These publications cover disability, ethnicity, gender and socio-economic status.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/tackling-child-poverty-delivery-plan-first-year-progress-report-2018-19\/\">Child poverty<\/a> monitoring for priority groups including lone parent families, families with a disabled person, and minority ethnic families.<\/li>\n<li>Analysis based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/criminal-proceedings-scotland-2016-17\/pages\/16\/\">statutory domestic abuse aggravator<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing development of the Police Scotland data on <a href=\"https:\/\/actiononprejudice.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/2019\/02\/developing-information-hate-crime-recorded-police-scotland.pdf\">recorded hate crimes<\/a> related to disability, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and transgender status.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hagis.scot\/\">Healthy Aging in Scotland<\/a> (HAGIS) pilot survey looked at the experiences of older people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further recent and planned developments can be found in the Equality Evidence Strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.scot\/Resource\/0054\/00548877.pdf\">Interim Progress Report<\/a>.
