Adapting Homes for Independence and Quality of Life

May 8, 2015 by No Comments | Category Uncategorized

Help to Adapt is an innovative pilot project supported by the Scottish Government. The project is being delivered by the Link Group, and will help homeowners to pay for housing adaptations using the equity in their own homes.

Help to Adapt will offer a unique, personalised service, by supplying a named caseworker, an occupational therapist to provide expert advice and on-going technical support to supervise the contract, contractors and ensure quality control. Homeowners will have additional peace of mind knowing that the Help to Adapt team will assist them through each step of the process; saving them the time, anxiety and effort involved in organising the works themselves.

Take a look at the twelve Local Authorities that we will be working in. Do you know someone aged 60 or over, who owns their home and needs to make alterations or adaptations to stay independently in their own home as they get older? If they have 80% equity, then we can help. If you are in touch with people aged 60 or over who could benefit from the scheme, the Help to Adapt team would be delighted to take referrals, answer any immediate queries and provide further information.

Our team would also be happy to be contacted to arrange group visits or meetings to explain how the scheme could benefit stakeholders and owner occupiers in the area.
