March 16, 2015 by No Comments | Category Collaborations, Marine Directorate general, Marine Planning

The pre-consultation versions of the pilot Pentland Firth and Orkney Waters Marine Spatial Plan, the Sustainability Appraisal, the Socio-Economic Baseline Review and the Regional Locational Guidance are due to be sent to Orkney Islands Council and Highland Council for consideration prior to a formal public consultation beginning in June 2015.

The documents will be available on the council websites five days prior to the relevant committees and links to the relevant committee dates and websites are provided in this Update (6 March 2015). Once the dates for the public consultation are confirmed, these will be published on this blog and through various stakeholder networks.

The workshops for the Tourism and Recreation study are happening today (16 March) in Thurso at Caithness Horizons and tomorrow (17 March) in Kirkwall at the Ayre Hotel. Both workshops have two sessions, one from 2 – 5pm and the other from 6 – 9pm. If you have not seen local advertisement further details are available from office@aquatera.co.uk and there will be other events held in other parts of the area at a later date, and these will also be advertised locally.
