Simple guide to the MPA management measures
February 9, 2016 by Marine Scotland Communications 4 Comments | Category Fisheries, Marine Directorate general
Thirty Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) were designated in Scotland’s seas on 24 July 2014, of which 17 fall under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010 in inshore waters.
In line with EU legislation, suitable management measures must be implemented at each site to conserve the protected features and the 17 inshore MPAs and 22 Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) were split into two groups to allow for phased implementation of management measures.
Details of the site groupings can be found in the Prioritisation Document and a non-statutory guide to the Marine Protected Area management measures has now been published on the Marine Scotland website in support of these.

good luck to all the fishermen and woman out there
The world is a crazy place with some of its rules now
I wonder which way our fishermen/women will be voting in the European referendum.
Why on earth are you allowing these people to destroy our natural salmon and poison our children with farmed garbage… You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
