National Development Plan Forum – April 2016

The latest National Development Plan Forum was held at Atlantic Quay in Glasgow on 29th April.
The forum provided the opportunity for Planning Authorities and Agencies from across the country to get together and discuss relevant issues affecting Development Planning and share experiences and good practice.
The day was chaired by Dorothy McDonald, Assistant Manager at Clydeplan. Over 60 delegates attended, representing the vast majority of Planning Authorities as well as the Improvement Service, COSLA, and agencies including SNH, SEPA, Transport Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, Forestry Commission Scotland and Scottish Water.
Presentations were given by a mix of Scottish Government and Local Authority officers, covering housing supply, Transport Appraisal, Simplified Planning Zones, LDP 2’s and Strategic Environmental Assessment. Workshops enabled discussion on key topics including housing, interactive mapping, place standard, digital connectivity and economic investment.
