Building a better Scotland through technology and community impact

August 15, 2025 by No Comments | Category framework agreements, Scottish Procurement, suppliers

The Software Value Added Reseller Services (SVARS) Framework, has been making waves in Scotland, not only through delivering innovative technology solutions but also through driving meaningful community impact.

Computacenter, the supplier of the SVARS framework, have been supporting vulnerable populations, championing environmental sustainability and inspiring young minds – an example of how framework suppliers can make a difference in the communities they serve.

A Lifeline for the Vulnerable

Through supporting a Homeless Project Scotland in Glasgow, Computacenter backed an initiative that provided hot meals and safe accommodation for a night to individuals experiencing homelessness. This effort goes beyond meeting immediate needs, through partnering with local organisations, it is helping to address the homelessness with practical, human-centered solutions. A reminder that impactful change can often start with small, meaningful acts of kindness.

Cleaning Up Scotland’s Shores

In June, they supported an Ocean Day beach clean-up, bringing volunteers together to clear litter from Scotland’s coastlines, helping to protect marine ecosystems, preserving Scotland’s natural beauty and demonstrating how businesses can contribute to a cleaner, greener future.

Empowering Future Innovators: SmartSTEMS Events

Computacenter’s commitment to education shines through their sponsorship of recent SmartSTEMS events, held at Abertay University in Dundee and the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). These events were attended by hundreds of young people and provided an opportunity to dive into the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

These events help open doors to future careers in technology, particularly for young people who might not otherwise have access to them. By fostering diversity and inclusion in STEM, Computacenter is helping to build a pipeline of talent that will shape the future of Scotland’s tech landscape.

From providing meals and shelter to those in need to cleaning up beaches and inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders, initiatives like these are addressing some of Scotland’s most pressing challenges, reminding us that technology, when paired with purpose, can transform lives.

What’s Next: A Showcase of Impact in Glasgow

Looking ahead, on 11 September in Glasgow at Voco Grand Central, Computacenter are collaborating with partners to host the upcoming upcoming Scotland Future Tech Expo, a showcase event for the SVARS and Technology Products Infrastructure (TPI) (Lot 1) framework.

This event will bring together industry thought leaders and provide an opportunity to gain valuable insights and discover how to maximise technology investments through Scottish Government frameworks.
