Civil Engineering Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) – first contract awarded

August 18, 2025 by No Comments | Category Dynamic Purchasing System, Procurement news, Scottish Procurement

We’re pleased to announce that the very first contract under our Civil Engineering DPS has officially been awarded. North Lanarkshire Council has appointed Soil Engineering Geoservices Ltd to carry out geotechnical works and ground investigations for the East Airdrie Link Road. Work on the project will be underway shortly.

The Civil Engineering DPS gives public sector organisations a fast flexible way to run competitions for projects worth up to £5 million. (Details on the organisations that can use the system are included within the  Contract Notice).

How the DPS works

The DPS uses three simple filters – type of works, location and value bandto help buyers find the right suppliers for their project.

It currently covers six lots:

  • Lot 1: General Civil Engineering Works
  • Lot 2: Roads
  • Lot 3: Structures
  • Lot 4: Geotechnical Services and Related Works
  • Lot 5: Utilities
  • Lot 6: Harbour, Coastal, Rivers, Flood and Marine

Opportunities for suppliers

The DPS is still open for applications! Suppliers can join via Public Contracts Scotland – tender (PCS-T) at any time with no limit on the number of suppliers that can participate.

The Civil Engineering DPS is expected to run until October 2030 with the Scottish Government retaining the flexibility to extend or shorten the term as needed.
