Reflecting on Commercial Week 2026

Commercial Week 2026 ran from 18 to 22 May. The programme attracted record levels of attendance with 3,000 bookings and 123 public bodies participating from across Scotland.  

The varied programme included sessions on procurement, contract and supplier management, policy, legislation, profession and talent development, project delivery, and construction.   

Feedback from participants was positive with attendees praising the quality of the sessions, expertise of speakers and opportunities to share knowledge and experience with colleagues and peers:

• “The Commercial Week programme is excellent and I’ve enjoyed all sessions so far” 

• “Commercial Week was excellent full of great training sessions my team and I found it really useful” 

• “It was really rewarding to present the Construction Session on the use of restricted and open procedures in construction to such a wide audience, drawn from the public and private sector in Scotland. The scale of the engagement demonstrates the continued commitment to collaboration, learning and sharing best practice across the public sector. By bringing together a broad cross-sector community of commercial professionals, it provides valuable opportunities to support the delivery of positive outcomes for the people of Scotland.  

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this the largest and most impactful Commercial Week to date. The success is testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved including speakers, facilitators, organisers, and attendees.
