The Public Procurement Group agrees ambitious objectives for 2026/27

July 28, 2026 by No Comments | Category Procurement news, Scottish Procurement

The Public Procurement Group (PPG) has agreed its objectives and priorities for 2026/27, setting a clear direction for collaborative action across Scotland’s public procurement landscape.

These objectives build on the changes introduced to the group over the past year, including broader representation, the appointment of a Non-Executive Director and strengthened governance arrangements. The group is now overseen by Mr McKee, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Reform, reinforcing its strategic leadership role across public procurement in Scotland.

The refreshed PPG brings together broader representation and expertise from across Scotland’s public sector, providing a stronger platform for collaboration, strategic leadership and collective action.

Moving from strategy to delivery

Over recent months, the Public Procurement Group has worked collaboratively to agree its direction and priorities for 2026/27.

The result is a new publication, Supporting a Once for Scotland Approach: Public Procurement Group Objectives for 2026/27, which sets out the group’s vision, agreed objectives and areas of focus for the coming year.

The publication reflects the group’s commitment to collective leadership, stronger collaboration and supporting delivery of the ambitions of the Public Procurement Strategy for Scotland (PPSfS).

Read the publication to learn more about:

  • the group’s overarching objective for 2026/27
  • the strategic priorities that will shape its work programme
  • how procurement forums and networks align to support delivery of the PPSfS
  • opportunities for greater collaboration and impact across Scotland’s public procurement community.

  • publication of meeting minutes and relevant papers on gov.scot
  • regular updates through these blogs
  • updates shared on our social media channels LinkedIn and X

The refreshed PPG will continue to provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively across the public sector to support a “Once for Scotland” approach to procurement, delivering lasting value for Scotland’s people, places and communities.
