COVID-19: Easing of Restrictions from 17 May

The First Minister confirmed today (11 May) that most of Scotland will move into Level 2 from Monday 17 May.
There are two exceptions:
- Moray is likely to remain in Level 3 due to the number of COVID-19 cases in the area
- Some of the Scottish island communities, which have had consistent low levels of infection, will move directly to Level 1. Those islands are listed here.
In line with the protection levels table, this means that for the islands in Level 1, up to 100 people will be able to attend funeral services, post-funeral gatherings and funeral-related commemorative events, with physical distancing. For the rest of Scotland, the maximum attendance remains at 50 people.
We are grateful to the funeral sector for playing an important part in implementing these changes and in communicating these key messages to families you work with.
