COVID-19 BOOSTER PROGRAMME UPDATE

From Tuesday 21 September frontline health and social care workers, including frontline funeral operatives, are able to book an appointment for a COVID-19 booster vaccine, online at NHS Inform. The booster programme is to prolong protection against severe COVID-19 illness and will run alongside the flu vaccination programme. Wherever possible, eligible people will be offered COVID-19 and flu vaccines together.

The COVID-19 booster vaccination will be offered to the same groups who were prioritised in Winter and Spring 2020/21, please do make sure to follow the eligibility criteria.

JCVI has advised that there should be an interval of at least six months between the second dose of the vaccine and the booster.
