Winning the Digital Health and Care Team Award

February 25, 2022 by No Comments | Category Data Strategy, health & social care

It has been another full on year for the Digital Health and Care Directorate responding to Covid-19 while also continuing to meet the ongoing urgent health and care needs of the country. So it was a wonderful surprise that our efforts did not go unnoticed at this year’s Holyrood Digital Health and Care Awards 2022 ceremony, held in Edinburgh on Tuesday the 22nd February.

Seven awards for seven different categories were up for grabs and we were delighted to win the Digital Health and Care Team Award.  This is clear recognition of our efforts over the past year and demonstrates our collaborative and innovative approach to caring for people. It was also recognition of the unprecedented strides made in the digital field in our NHS Boards and across health and social care, and housing over the last two years. We want to thank all of our partners who have been instrumental in this.

The awards ceremony

Quite a few of the team were there on the night to celebrate.  For many it was emotional being reunited after so long. It was also the first time for some to meet colleagues in person, making the event even more specialDigital Health and Care Team holding their award. It was also fantastic to see other organisations and teams across health and social care being recognised.  Many of whom we work closely with and we are really appreciative of their efforts and want to congratulate everyone who was shortlisted and who also won an award.

While it feels great to be recognised for our hard work, it won’t stop here. We are committed to continue on this journey, ensuring we meet our ambitions as set out in our refreshed Digital Health and Care Strategy published in October last year. These include: an increased focus on enabling digital inclusion and access to services; building our digital leadership and workforce skills and capabilities; building the foundations and infrastructure to increase resilience across services and traditional boundaries and; ensuring that we make better use of data.
