Launch of the Offshore Renewables Joint Industry Programme (ORJIP)

Marine Scotland are delighted to be part of  Offshore Renewables Joint Industry Programme (ORJIP) – as  a joint industry project involving the Carbon Trust, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Marine Scotland, The Crown Estate and offshore wind developers. 

The aim is to ensure that research work is commissioned to tackle the evidence needs associated with licensing decisions on offshore wind.

    This seems like an interesting project. We should be doing far more to make use of the resources we have around us. Being an island, offshore windfarms would seem to be the perfect solution for the UK. I look forward to hearing more about this project in the near future. Hopefully if successful it can be rolled out across more of the UK to help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
