Open Government Partnership

Back in June, we blogged to let you know that we were kicking off the co-creation of our 3rd Open Government Action Plan.

We began this process with an ideas challenge over on the Scottish Government Dialogue Platform. We asked for your opinions and ideas relating to the 5 topics we had identified (alongside our Civil Society partners) as the key themes for this action plan:

  • Participation in decision making
  • Data
  • Financial Transparency
  • Health and Social Care
  • Climate Change

Your responses to this challenge helped us to design 6 workshops to find out more about what you wanted to see in the Action plan. We worked with Democratic Society to develop and run the workshops. Their expertise really helped us to make sure the process was as inclusive as possible.

You can download the report from each workshop on the Democratic Society website.

We also worked with Democratic Society to develop a video explaining what Open Government is, and how it’s being used here in Scotland. Watch it below.

We’ll be publishing our new action plan in the next couple of months, and are really excited to start delivering on our most ambitious plan yet. If you’d like to get involved in how we deliver this plan, please sign up to join the Civil Society Network!
