The national Development Planning Forum is hosted by the Scottish Government and brings together the Development Planning community and Key Agencies to share experience, knowledge, good practice and ideas.

The 2018 Forum focussed on Development Planning and the planning review. The event took place in The Studio, Glasgow on April 20, 2018.

The agenda from the event along with the main plenary presentations and workshop presentations (where appropriate) are now available.

    All these discussions are all good and well but the delivered final product is still very poor. Whether new housing or the infrastructure the urban design is not efficient, attractive or providing the lifestyle for people and businesses.
    There is definitely something wrong with build regulations from housing to road widths, cycle or for local businesses.
    We are not creating attractive, smart and efficient places & causing so much unproductivity and costs in the economy.
    Just look at Edinburgh’s infrastructure and it’s waterfront just awful.
    Sorry we have a very long way to go compared to many European countries.
    With many years of devolution I thought we would have been much better but sadly to little has changed.
