Sustainable Procurement Tools-the story so far…

February 25, 2021 by No Comments | Category climate change, Scottish Procurement, Sustainable Procurement Tools

Our Sustainable Procurement Tools have been developed to help Scottish public bodies identify and achieve economic, social and environmental outcomes through their procurement activity.

We launched the platform in June 2020 and so far 79 Scottish public sector bodies have registered, alongside public sector and private organisations in other parts of the UK and further afield, including Australia and Canada. In total we are approaching 350 users across 122 organisations.

The single platform, which provides easier access to the tools and guidance, was developed using one of our national frameworks resulting in a contract award to a Scottish SME.

Following the launch, we have been active in helping public bodies to use the new tools through the creation of both written and video user guides with the offer of further demonstrations.

Climate Literacy eLearning

As we continue to improve the platform, next week will see the launch of our Climate Literacy eLearning. The eLearning is a unique, demand led product and will help to encourage and assist public bodies to take account of climate and circular economy considerations in their procurement activity.
