Our congratulations go to our colleagues in Scottish Procurement and in the Scottish Government Digital Directorate, winners of the ‘COVID-19 Outstanding Response Award – Public Sector Organisations’ award for the ground-breaking and innovative ‘Check-In Scotland’ product and service.
Lee Rutherford – Head of Digital Commercial Strategy, Digital Commercial Service said: “Fantastic achievements for the Digital Directorate and Scottish Procurement and Property Directorate at GO Awards Scotland 2021-22. The Digital Commercial Service, a partnership between the Digital Directorate and the Scottish Procurement and Property Directorate, along with delivery partners, NHS National Services Scotland and Public Health Scotland, won the COVID-19 Outstanding Response – Public Sector award for the ground-breaking and innovative Check-In Scotland product and service.
This was alongside a ‘Highly Commended’ award for the Digital Triage project under the same category. On top of this success, the team also won the overall GO Excellence Award 2021-22 category winner, which represents the very best of the best in public procurement; this highlights the excellence, expertise and quality of service that is being delivered daily by our Directorates to support the people of Scotland.
The next stage will be automatic entry of our category winners into the UK National GO Awards, to be held on the 25th of May – best of luck to our finalists and watch this space!”
Scotland Excel also picked up the ‘Best Procurement Delivery’ award and was ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Team of the Year’ category.
Scotland Excel Chief Executive, Julie Welsh, said: “It was wonderful to have the Scottish GO Awards back as an ‘in person’ event this year as the awards are a fantastic way to bring Scotland’s procurement community together, to celebrate the innovative work we do.
“Scotland Excel has an excellent track record at the awards, so I was delighted to receive highly commended in the ‘Team of the Year’ category, for our PPE team who worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to ensure a robust response to supply chain issues.
“And of course, we were absolutely thrilled to win the award for ‘Best Procurement Delivery’ for our New Build Residential Framework. The framework was implemented in partnership with 11 Scottish councils to support the public sector’s efforts to build new, affordable social housing throughout Scotland.
“It accelerates projects by reducing the time it takes councils and housing associations to engage a supplier to build homes, while also having economic and social value firmly at its core.”
Next up is the UK National Go Awards on 25 May 2022. Good luck to all the entrants!
