Sustainability in construction projects: CPN 1/2023

January 12, 2023 by No Comments | Category Construction, Construction Policy Notes, Sustainability

We have published a new Construction Policy Note (CPN) highlighting a new chapter we have added to our Client Guide to Construction Projects.

We have added Chapter 18 to our Project Initiation and Business Case Handbook. This new chapter covers sustainability in construction projects.

The guidance looks at the three pillars of sustainability:

  • socially sustainable – demonstrating socially responsible leadership through the delivery of healthy and inclusive outcomes
  • environmentally sustainable – actively protecting biodiversity and the environment through the adoption of a whole life approach and effective mitigation strategies
  • economically sustainable – enabling inclusive economic growth through fair and resilient practices

We are committed to ending Scotland’s contribution to climate change in a fair and just way by 2045. This guidance aims to support those managing construction projects to consider sustainability at every life cycle stage.
