Single Procurement Document: More buyer awareness sessions

Last month, we hosted a workshop for all public sector buyers on the Single Procurement Document (SPD) module within Public Contracts Scotland (PCS). The workshop had a huge uptake of interest, so we have decided to host a series of these workshops throughout the year.

The SPD is a standard questionnaire that allows buyers to identify suitably qualified and experienced bidders. It contains questions on both exclusion and selection criteria. Bidders will use their SPD response to indicate whether their organisations meet the requirements to participate in the procurement exercise.

The SPD module in PCS is available to all users who need to carry out electronic SPD requests. The module provides buyers and suppliers with an easy-to-use service that enables buyers to electronically create and issue SPD requests based on the SPD (Scotland) template, and to link them to their contract notices. The functionality is built into the existing PCS portal, and does not require users to re-register or log-in separately.

Registration is open for these free online workshops for all public sector buyers. In the meantime, the Procurement Journey remains the place to find best practice guidance on the practical application of the SPD.

The sessions are scheduled each month until December 2023, and will demonstrate the functionality and answer any questions you may have about the module.
