Building Youth Skills in Procurement

July 14, 2023 by No Comments | Category Procurement People of Tomorrow, Scottish Procurement

15 July is World Youth Skills Day!

We’re celebrating by hearing from an intern on their positive experience of using our Procurement People of Tomorrow (PPoT) ‘Placement Pack’.

Louis joined us through the Care Leavers Internship scheme and has already picked up a variety of skills from his time here:

“I’ve started on a career in commercial through the Procurement People of Tomorrow Programme. I joined through the Care Leavers Internship scheme, which has given me the opportunity to build my skill set and show my potential. I’ve been developing my project delivery, procurement and civil service skills, and contributing to my team’s success.” – Louis, Scottish Government

Louis is currently making his way through our PPoT placement pack, using the challenge-based material to support his autonomy and skills development in the procurement and supply chain space. The pack is freely available to all public, private and third-sector procurement functions in Scotland.

We encourage any procurement functions to take our pack and use it to host placements and help develop our procurement people of tomorrow.
