Working with the Scottish Public Sector – How to Make the Most of Public Contracts Scotland

What is Public Contracts Scotland (PCS)?

Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) is the one-stop shop for suppliers to access Scottish public sector contract opportunities.

All Scottish public sector buying organisations must use PCS to advertise their regulated procurements. Regulated Procurements are procurements with an estimated value of £50k and over for goods and services or £2m and over for works.

Find opportunities from across the public sector from Local Authorities, NHS Scotland, the Scottish Government, Agencies and Non Departmental Public Bodies to Higher & Further Education and the Emergency Services using PCS.

How can I find opportunities through PCS?

There are 4 main ways you can make the most of the free features to find opportunities:

1. Browse the Public Contracts Scotland website for opportunities. Go to PCS then click on the Search Notices tab. Enter keywords in the keyword search box and click Search Notices to find relevant Notices. You can also search by Buying Organisation or use the location or category drop downs to filter the search.
2. Search for Buying Organisations and view the notices that they have published. Go to PCS then click the Search Buyers tab. From the Buying Organisation’s page you can view information including their Current, Future and Past Notices.
3. Set up an Alert Profile to be notified by email when relevant opportunities are advertised.
4. Register for a Supplier Finder Profile. Buyers use Supplier Finder to search for and invite suppliers to quote for low value/low risk procurements (also known as Quick Quotes). Setting up your Supplier Finder profile will allow Buyers to find you and invite you to quote.
