Annual report on procurement activity in Scotland 2023 – 2024 published

We have published the seventh annual report on procurement activity in Scotland. The report provides an overview of public procurement activity in Scotland for the financial year 2023 to 2024.
The report shows how public procurement continues to make a positive and lasting contribution to the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of Scotland’s people and communities, key impacts include:
- Scottish public Procurement spend: £17.5 billion
- economic activity generated: £14.7 billion
- impact to Scottish GDP: £7.8 billion
- jobs: 120,000 FTE
The reporting year saw significant milestones for public procurement including the launch of the Public Procurement Strategy for Scotland in April 2023. The strategy was developed by the Public Procurement Group and provides a clear vision and focused direction, putting public procurement at the heart of a sustainable economy to maximise value for the people of Scotland.
