[Update] Six Day Death Registration Service

On 1 April our blog post advised that National Records of Scotland (NRS), working with local authorities, have now moved to a remote registration model during the current national emergency.
Additionally, local authorities have now, where possible, moved to offering a [Update: 6-day registration service M-Sa, not on Sundays, and which is being kept under review]. As the configuration of services is a matter for each local authority, hours are designed to best meet local need. It is advised to check your local authority’s website or contact your local registration office to confirm opening hours.
The service page on the National Records of Scotland (NRS) website has been updated to include the reference to extended opening hours and also includes information on how to contact your local registration office.
