On 26 July 2022, the Scottish Government updated the Safer workplaces and Public settings guidance in regards to Covid-19. Whilst there are no longer any legal requirements for businesses, in regards to Covid-19 mitigations, it is important we continue to take precautions in order to limit potential transmission of Covid-19 for the sake of public health, to support our recovery and to avoid absences and operational issues.

Key recommended actions:

  1. Follow the guidance and stay home/allow staff to stay home when experiencing symptoms or have a positive test result
  2. Ventilate, ventilate, ventilate
  3. Wear and encourage face coverings in busy areas
  4. Implement hybrid working if possible
  5. Encourage and support the uptake of vaccination and booster

The updated guidance includes detail on the Covid Sense signage scheme. This voluntary pilot scheme will run until the end of August. It allows businesses and organisations across Scotland to download and display signage that will let their customers, staff and visitors know which protective measures they have in place in their buildings. The Scottish Government also continues to encourage use of the Distance Aware Scheme and the Covid Sense marketing assets including posters. Businesses may wish to look at the additional guidance from NHS Scotland for Individuals and PHS Scotland for public settings, information on the Autumn/Winter Booster programme.

Thank you for your continued support in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The last two years have been tough and we really appreciate all the adaptations businesses and organisations have made to help keep their staff and customers safe.
