Funeral Sector Inspectorate and Funeral Director Licensing

We are progressing implementation of the Burial and Cremation (Scotland) Act 2016 and the related regulations, codes of practice and guidance which will impact the funeral sector. Please look out for our postcard requesting you to provide us with some information about your business.

Why we need your information

We are setting up the Funeral Sector Inspectorate and developing the licensing scheme for funeral directors. We need to know your details and what type of business/ organisation you are. We also want to provide you with updates about the ongoing changes which will impact you and your business/ organisation.

What we are asking you to do

We are asking all those working in the funeral sector in Scotland to go to the sign up page and tell us your type of business (e.g. funeral director, burial authority, cremation authority or other), and your business/organisation name, address and email contact details.

The sign up page allows you to provide your details, so that they can be added to our list of funeral sector businesses and organisations. The sign up page is available at: https://bit.ly/fd-ca-ba-signup
