Environmental Impact Assessment Guidance for offshore renewable energy projects

June 2, 2015 by No Comments | Category Marine Directorate general

A new document has been published providing guidance for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for offshore renewable energy projects (PD 6900). This guidance provides information for the whole EIA process and is intended for all those involved in the consenting of offshore renewable energy projects.

A full description of the guidance and download details can be found on the British Standards Institution website.  Offshore renewable energy projects require a marine licence before they can be built in Scotland’s seas. These are issued by the Marine Scotland Licensing Operations Team, who are also involved in the EIA process.
