Crowdsourcing ideas for Scottish public service open data
June 7, 2015 by Leah Lockhart 3 Comments | Category Democracy, Our work
We’ve opened up our first instance of crowdsourcing ideas and suggestions today and it’s all around open data. You can start pitching in your ideas about what data you’d like to see opened up from Scottish public services, what you might use the data for and what formats you’d like to see the data by visiting the open data ideas generator.
We hope to publish another instance of Dialogue App later this week for a different team using the app in a totally different way – as an alternative to a discussion forum. The way it works is simple: you submit an idea and others get to comment and vote on it. The idea with the most votes will rise to the top but all ideas will always be visible. Conversations or suggestions for modifications on an idea can be submitted by other contributors so it’s like creating a community of interest at the same time as generating ideas.
Spread the word and do take part if you have ideas or suggestions about Scottish public services liberating their data. Let us know what you think about your experience of using the app because we’re always looking for feedback about the new digital engagement platforms we’re using.
