Open Contracting Strategy published today
September 7, 2017 by Sarah McLeod No Comments | Category Open Contracting, Open Data, Procurement news, Public Contracts Scotland
Today we published our Open Contracting Strategy as part of our commitments to the Open Government Partnership Scottish National Action Plan 2016-2017.
We already have a good track record for making procurement information available through the Public Contracts Scotland website. However, making more information available in a way that allows it to be easily used and shared in line with the Open Data Strategy will require us to take further steps.
This strategy states our intention to publish procurement information that is coherent, consistent and in a format that is useful and easy to understand. It builds upon progress made by the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 and the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
We intend to take a phased approach to implementation to gradually increase the amount and types of information we publish.
This strategy is for Scottish Procurement but other public bodies may also find it useful when developing their own strategies for making their procurement and contract information more open and transparent.
If you would like further information on the strategy, please contact the Open Contracting team.
