Important Scottish Procurement publications coming soon

Welcome to 2023! In the spirit of being #OpenAndConnected, we’d like to let the procurement and property community in Scotland know about a number of important publications to look out for in the coming weeks.  

First up will be the Scottish Ministers’ report on procurement activity in Scotland, covering the period of 2020 to 2021. This report is based on information contained in individual annual procurement reports prepared by public bodies and other relevant information. You can view the previous version of this report (2019 to 2020) on gov.scot.

This will be followed by the Scottish Government’s annual procurement report covering the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022. This report is different from the Ministers’ report detailed above as this report specifically refers to procurement activity carried out by the Scottish Government, for core Scottish Government, on behalf of central Government bodies and at a national level for all public sector bodies.

Next up, we will be publishing an exciting Review which documents Scotland’s progressive approach to achieving sustainable procurement outcomes over the past 20 years. The publication includes a literature review, findings from 43 interviews and 6 best practice case studies.

Plan for the Future: recent strategy development workshop.

Finally, as part of the Plan for the Future programme of work, we will be publishing the new Procurement Strategy for Scotland. This is a very exciting and important piece of work which will provide a future high-level vision and roadmap for Scottish public procurement which all public sector bodies can align to and deliver against You can read more here about the ‘story so far’ of the Plan for the Future.
