During Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023 we’re raising awareness of the Procurement People of Tomorrow (PPoT) Pledge!

A transcript of this animation is available at the bottom of the page.

The PPoT programme aims to address the skills gap in procurement and highlights the challenges in attracting, recruiting and retaining talent. PPoT is recognised by the European Commission as an exemplar in the professionalisation programme across Europe.

Public and private sector organisations are encouraged to make a commitment towards new entrants in Procurement by signing the pledge.

The pledge asks organisations to commit to providing opportunities such as: Hire a Procurement Modern Apprentice, Offer work experience placements and Promoting procurement as a career in school, college or university.

On Scottish Apprenticeship Week, Nikki commented, “Apprenticeships are a hugely valued and impactful route to growing our own talent, bringing in new thinking and embedding diversity across our teams. I’m excited to see the impact of those hired through our Procurement People of Tomorrow programme, quickly contributing to key projects and being supported in their career development. Some of our early apprentice intakes have now progressed into procurement leadership positions, being instrumental in the management of the pandemic and other critical projects.”

Stay tuned during Scottish Apprenticeship Week as we share more content on our channels from 6-10 March!
