Single speaker transcript, Nick Ford:
Nick Ford: Hi, everyone!
Welcome to my autumn vlog of highlights and what’s coming up.
In September, the Programme for Government was published, and within this is the commitment to deliver a more efficient approach to public sector property management through the new Single Scottish Estate programme.
Work on this is now underway, including the first meeting of the advisory board, engagement with stakeholders and with Ministers.
There are also other commitments involving procurement. So please check out our recent blog for more information.
Speaking of Ministers, we’ve had great engagement recently with our Minister Mr Tom Arthur.
Including visits to APUC, Scotland Excel and NHS and a productive joint meeting of the PPG and PSG.
Throughout autumn we’ve seen plenty of cross-sector engagement events.
Meet the Buyer North, Meet the Buyer South, ProcureX and the National Procurement Conference, along with the GO Awards!
And my congratulations to the winners and the finalists.
You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Other recent highlights include the Scot Climate Week and the launch of our new Supported Business framework…
…but this time it’s a Dynamic Purchasing System
which will really help supported businesses get on and win business.
We’ve also launched our new framework for the supply of electricity across the whole of the Scottish public and third sector.
Huge amounts of work went into this new framework agreement and it’s worth over £3.5 billion.
So our largest to date.
It’s obviously now a busy time particularly for Heads of Procurement as you’re all producing your annual procurement reports, along with our own for Scottish Government and then the Ministerial report of all the procurement activity across Scotland.
I really enjoy seeing the impactful figures in these reports and the case studies showing power of procurement.
On Eprocurement, the MI platform is progressing really well and we’re looking at a proof of concept on the way very soon.
We’ll also be appointing a digital partner who will help us shape our future Eprocurement landscape.
More comms to follow on this!
And then looking further ahead, early next year we’ll be launching the new civil engineering framework, along with a dynamic purchasing system framework which will really support the construction sectors.
Make sure you’re following us for important updates.
Well, that’s all for now, and I’ll be back with a final update in December rounding off the year. Thank you!
