Scotland's Economy

Scotland Week – New York

April 14, 2012 by No Comments | Category Business

I had a very productive meeting today in New York with Renewable Resources Ltd, a Scottish company specialising in solar technology, which has announced that is expanding into US markets.

The welcome news comes as part of Scotland Week events and I was only too pleased to hear about the plans from their Chief Exceutive Paul Gribben.

The firm is one of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) installers for commercial rooftops in the UK and Renewable Resources will use its unique expertise to help customers in Northern America retrofit their properties with solar energy systems.
It will look to replicate its UK success in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut from a new base in Stamford.

Scottish Development International, the Trade and Investment are of the Scottish Government, has been supporting RRL with its internationalisation programme and will continue to work with the company to realise its global ambitions.

RRL is an excellent example of an innovative and ambitious Scottish company that is moving into overseas markets and this is exactly what the Scottish Government is encouraging to help develop sustainable economic growth.

Scotland is leading the world in renewables technology and the success of this company is another example of how this is paying dividends.
