Young Entrepreneurs on the EDGE

On 16 June 2014, the fourth round of the Scottish EDGE saw 30 dynamic entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to be in with the chance of each winning up to £50,000. This round saw the introduction of the Young Scottish EDGE which is for young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30. It is a fantastic opportunity for early-stage entrepreneurs with strong growth ambitions.

After a full day of pitching at RBS Gogarburn, the judges picked the winners who were announced at an evening ceremony.

15 businesses won a collective total of £660,000 and 10 young businesses received £70,000. I’m delighted to congratulate:

Since its establishment in 2012, the Scottish EDGE Fund has awarded £1.9m to 54 of Scotland’s most dynamic early-stage entrepreneurial businesses. After three rounds, Scottish EDGE winners have gone on to create over 100 new and sustainable jobs and have generated an additional £3.5m turnover.
