Scotland's Economy
Increasing Scotland’s trading capabilities
November 20, 2018 by Ivan McKee MSP 1 Comment | Category Business, Economy, Exports
The 2018/19 Programme for Government includes a commitment to invest an additional £20million over three years to grow Scotland’s export potential.
To support this ambition, I am seeking new members to join Scotland’s Trade Board.
Since 2017, the board, which is made up of a wide range of business experts, has championed the internationalisation of Scottish businesses, helping find practical ways of boosting the country’s export performance.
And with export performance being central to Scotland’s trading potential, I want to do everything in my power to see even more Scottish products and services in even more markets.
I am committed to ensuring that businesses in Scotland feel able and supported to embark on their export journey. I also believe that businesses who have experience of exporting are those best placed to advise government on how this can best be done – this is the role of my Trade Board.
Joining the board provides business experts with a unique experience to drive a step change in Scotland’s export performance – and to contribute to the future of both our economy and our country. I would encourage those with expertise in internationalising businesses to consider being part of this ambition.
Applications to the Trade Board will close on Wednesday 12 December 2018 – those interested in taking up a Trade Board role are asked to email an expression of interest to the Trade Promotion Team
