The Scottish Government Design System (SGDS) team recently launched a new version of its Axure widget library (scottishgovernment_designsystem_v2.0.rplib). It contains new and updated components and patterns.

An Axure library is a collection of pre-made components to use in your designs to save time and ensure consistency. You can use the Axure library to create wireframes and interactive prototypes easily in Axure RP, a rapid prototyping tool.

The Axure kit and other prototyping kits are free to use.

Download the new Axure library from the Scottish Government Design System.

What’s new

The key updates to the Axure library are:

  • new and improved Axure kit guidance
  • detailed list of change log added to the guidance
  • new widgets added, for example autocomplete component, task list pattern
  • existing widgets updated

The changelog section in the Axure kit contains a list of changes made to the widgets. For example, if a new widget has been added or an existing widget has been changed.

Using Axure RP for prototyping

At Scottish Government, Interaction Designers use SGDS design kits to build prototypes for public services. All the components and patterns for the design kits have been tested for usability and accessibility.

The interaction design community at Scottish Government uses Axure RP to create, test and iterate prototypes. Our aim is to use common tools to bring consistency to our designs.
