The Status Of Funeral Directors As Key Workers

March 26, 2020 by No Comments | Category COVID-19, Funeral directors, Key Worker

Update (31 March): Social distancing measures are for everyone, including businesses. We should all be trying to reduce social interaction between people in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This remains important for the Critical National Infrastructure sector and those identified as Key Workers. Please familiarise yourself with this guidance if you run or work in a funeral industry business:

The status of funeral directors as key workers is a decision for each local authority in Scotland.  We are advised that those wishing to be classed as a key worker should review the national guidance which suggests every business should home-school their children as the first preference:

If home-schooling is not an option, then funeral directors should contact their local authority education department using the contact details on local authority websites.
