Since the first lunchtime collection in January, they have ventured out in the rain, cold and occassional sunny day and have collected and recycled at least 1,427 bottles and cans, and collected twenty bin-bags full of rubbish and many large objects.

DaMarine Scotland litter clean-upnny Pendrey who started the clean-ups said “We have been heartened by seeing the areas we have cleared have stayed relatively clear of rubbish since they were first cleaned-up mid-January and we hope to clear the shore along to the lighthouse by this summer – and then keep it clean. It’s also been good exercise and feels very satisfying to be doing something to help clean up our seas.”
