This week we finally did something we’ve been wanting to do for some time. We switched over to our new consultation hub. We have been using it for a good while, but since Monday it is the way we now do all our consultations.

The hub is built on Citizen Space by the nice people at Delib.

What does this mean? Well, from now on people can respond to all of our consultations online. While this isn’t going to make it onto Mashable, it’s a big step forward for us who have relied on word documents and email for too long.

And it’s not just about making it easier for you to tell us your views on supporting your football club or the future of Scotland’s islands ; it makes it far easier for us to collate, analyse and publish the things you tell us.

But (there’s always a but), there’s far more for us to do. We want to make sure we are targeting the right people. Build it and they will come might have worked for Kevin Costner, but we have to be smarter about how we promote our consultations.

There’s more. Questionnaire design, accessibility, language: There’s a long list of potential improvements for us to work on.

In the meantime, please visit the hub tell us what you think on a whole range of different  issues, or tell us in the comments what you like or don’t like about consultations and what you think we could do better.
