Investing in Planning – a consultation on resourcing Scotland’s planning system responds to current resourcing challenges. It builds on ideas generated in a stakeholder workshop held in November, and sets out a series of proposals which aim to improve capacity and build resilience particularly within planning authorities.

Part 1 of the consultation considers the potential to do things differently, or work smarter. Part 2 explores options for levering in additional financial resources to better support the system and move closer to cost recovery.

In addition to inviting stakeholder views on the proposals outlined, the consultation encourages stakeholders to suggest further ideas on alternative ways to support delivery and build resilience. Views are invited by 31 May 2024.
