Animal licensing

Rural Affairs Minister Mairi Gougeon welcomed the consultation analysis responses on proposals to introduce new regulations for the licensing of dog, cat and rabbit breeding activities in Scotland.

Rural Scotland and EU citizens

Mr Ewing highlighted the importance of retaining freedom of movement for EU workers, while on a visit to Pittenweem Harbour. He said:

“This Government values the contribution EU citizens make to our economy and society, and we want people who are here already to know they will be supported to stay in Scotland.  It is also important for people thinking of coming to Scotland to work, even for a season, that we are open for business and that you will be welcomed warmly.

Climate Change research

Climate Change Secretary Roseanna Cunningham welcomed Climate Ready Clyde’s full climate risk and opportunity assessment for Glasgow City Region. She said:

“I am pleased that additional support from the Scottish Government is enabling Climate Ready Clyde’s partners to publish this important research, which shows that adaptation makes economic sense for the City Region.”
