Making Scotland a world class tech hub

The first meeting has taken place of the Scottish Technology Ecosystem Review Advisory Board.

The Board brings together Scotland’s top entrepreneurs and digital leaders to advance the recommendations of the Scottish Technology Ecosystem Review, supporting efforts to accelerate Scotland’s development as world class technology hub.

The Board members are:

Kate Forbes (Co-chair) – Kate is Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Economy and MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch.

Stephen Ingledew (Co-chair) – Stephen is the Executive Chair of FinTech Scotland and has led the organisation since its formation in 2018.

Mark Logan – Mark is the author of the Scottish Technology Ecosystem Review and has more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in the internet technology sector. He was instrumental in the success of multiple start-ups, including Skyscanner.

Vicky Brock – Vicky is a serial entrepreneur who recently co-founded her fifth start-up Vistalworks – a Scottish technology company that provides intelligence software to protect citizens, economies and industry from online illicit trade and cybercrime.

Colin Cook – Colin is director economic development at Scottish Government. He was previously digital director with responsibility for Scotland’s national digital, data and AI strategies and the roll out of Scotland’s national broadband network.

Jude Cook – Jude is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of ShareIn, the Edinburgh-based fintech business providing investment platforms.

Jennifer Craw – Jennifer is the founding Chief Executive of Opportunity North East, the private sector catalyst driving transformational change, developing and delivering projects to accelerate growth and diversification in the economy of north east Scotland.

Lesley Eccles – Lesley is founder and Chief Executive Officer of relationship coaching app Relish. She was previously co-founder and former Head of Marketing of sports gaming brand FanDuel, which is now the largest sports betting company in the US.

Maria Gutierrez – Maria is Vice President of Engineering Strategy and Operations at Twitter, driving operational excellence in Twitter’s growing global engineering organisation.

Linda Hanna – Linda took up post as Interim Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise in October 2020. Prior to this, she was  managing director of Scottish Economic Development, helping build economic systems to support entrepreneurs, industries and communities.

Roan Lavery – Roan is the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of FreeAgent, an online accounting software company based in Edinburgh.

Sir Jim McDonald – Sir Jim is Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde. He co-chairs, with the First Minister, the Scottish Government’s Energy Advisory Board.

Susanne Mitschke – Susanne is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Citruslabs, a digital contract research organisation bringing together everything required to successfully plan and conduct clinical trials for pharmaceutical, biotech, and supplement/skincare companies.

Sarah Ronald – Sarah is an award-winning design entrepreneur, founder of strategic design firm Nile, part-owner of a bar, founding partner of two tech start-ups (Pawprint and Exizent) and an investor at Par Equity, a leading venture capital company.
