With the rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), data maturity has become even more important, and becoming data-ready for AI is one of the key drivers for those organisations who choose to take part in the Scottish Government Data Maturity Programme.

To become data-ready requires looking in detail at the current status of data in an organisation, having a clear idea of aspirations for data and the practical issues that need to be faced to reach these.

The Data Maturity Programmes supports organisations to become data ready through their six month annual project, inviting up to ten bodies to take part each year.  These organisations are encouraged to consider their ambitions for data, to carry out a data maturity assessment, and to start developing a plan for data improvement.

40+ bodies from across the sector have already taken part and are implementing their data action plans and roadmaps through data projects, infrastructure developments such as data governance and data catalogues, and training programmes.

Every year we have a diverse range of organisations from across the Scottish Public Sector, and it is always a pleasure to meet the participants who want to see improved data practices and to help their organisations to use data more effectively.

Once you have taken part in the Programme you can join our Network which continues to provide support from our in-house team and through events and sharing resources. The peer to peer networking is particularly appreciated and we run monthly events for all members.

If you are interested in finding out more you can come along to our Information Session on 21st May. You can register through the Scottish Digital Academy

You can also learn more about the Programme through this online summary.

Following the session, registration will be open until mid June. Do get in touch for an informal chat if you and your organisation are interested in joining the Programme.
