Initiative – Team approach on developing ICT procurement capability

Congratulations to our ICT team being named Team of the Year winners at this year’s GO Awards Scotland.

Over the last two years the team have gone above and beyond to provide outstanding support to ICT buyers. They established an online network of over 300 users where buyers can get advice and support from their peers. They also developed and provided tools and training. And through engaging face to face with key stakeholders at regional roadshows, the team were able to make sure they were providing the best possible support.

Innovation

Our ICT team were the first in the UK to deliver a collaborative dynamic purchasing system (DPS). This year they have continued this move to DPS from traditional frameworks as they provide a more innovative and flexible approach.

Taking the climate emergency seriously

The team builds sustainability into all procurements and works collaboratively with others like Sustainable Procurement Ltd. This year the team was recognised by the Green Electronics Council at the EPEAT Purchaser awards, which honour organisations that show leadership in the procurement of sustainable IT products. The team has been the only organisation in the UK to be awarded this accreditation.

Achievements between 2017-19:

  • Delivered savings for the public sector of £77 million
  • Community benefits – free teacher training on how to use tablets for classroom learning
  • EPEAT award winner 2019
