For those that do not already know, Robbie Parish has decided to move on from Scottish Government after two years. During this time he has been instrumental in establishing the programme and managed the transformation of GLOW, the Scottish schools’ intranet.

Today though we are delighted to announce that Colin Cook has taken over as head of the newly formed Digital Public Services and Business Transformation Division in Scottish Government.

Colin Cook will be responsible for enabling transformation activities across the Scottish public sector, promoting digital participation and delivering

Colin’s main role will be to lead the overall implementation of our digital public services strategy, and this will include, digital transformation, assisted digital and online transactional services.

It will also include the shared service that is being developed for the central government sector which will support business transformation. The aim of the service is to ensure the availability of the right sort of digital/IT specialist support is available to scope and deliver significant procurements and change progress.

Prior to this appointment, Colin led the ‘Scotland’s Next Generation Broadband Programme’ and established the ‘Business Excellence Partnership’ to help stimulate and support Scotland’s Digital Economy.

Outside of Scottish Government, Colin’s experience includes spells as Marketing Director, British Army and both Marketing Director and Service Specification Director of Royal Mail’s core Letters Business. Colin is a trustee of The Poppy Factory, a charity dedicated to helping wounded, sick and disabled ex-service people back into work and a regular speaker on digital, marketing and IT issues.
