Public sector data is a vital component in making sure that services for the people of Scotland are delivered efficiently and effectively. In an increasingly complex world, data plays an ever-expanding role in shaping and supporting economic, societal and environmental transformations.

To support the public sector in this transformation and innovation with data, the Scottish Government is establishing a short-lived ‘Horizon Group’ to form and co-create a 5–20-year vision for public sector data in Scotland. We are looking to Scottish public sector leaders to get involved, and those outside the public sector with an interest in its data.

From health and housing through to arts and culture we want your views on what transformations are likely and what vision is needed to ensure data supports the transformational change required. We are seeking a diverse range of experiences and voices to shape this cutting-edge work.

There are different ways you can get involved including membership of the Horizon Group, being part of a Challenge Group that will help review the draft vision, and in the longer term, a Realisation Group which will have an ongoing implementation-focused remit.

Let us know how you’d like to take part by completing this expression of interest form by Tuesday 7 May 2024.

This process is being designed and facilitated by The Lunar Works & Tynos Consulting on behalf of the Data Division of the Scottish Government.
